One of the most exciting (and terrifying) things I did on my visit to Chankanaab was the Zipline course. I wasn't sure I could make it up the initial flight of stairs let alone soar through all the ziplines. Thankfully I survived, barely. I'm glad I faced my fears and didn't allow them to prevent me from this experience. The views were incredible. Flying through the air was freeing. Experiencing it with family and friends, totally worth it!

Being able to crack a smile for this shot without the fear showing through is impressive.

As much as I felt intimidated by the ziplines, the scariest part of the zipline adventure for me was crossing the hanging bridge far above the crocodiles. I just knew that at any moment I would fall and meet my fate and become the crocodiles lunch. NOTE: The mind can be your worst enemy if not kept in check. Once I got the courage to embark on the journey across, I took a step out onto the wobbly bridge. One step at a time, I made my way. That is until fear took over and I froze right in the middle of the bridge. Recognizing the 'fear freeze', those on the platform behind me began to cheer me on. I couldn't move. I just stood there, trembling, for what seemed like an eternity. Then, the bridge swayed and shook a bit. Someone from the platform had stepped onto to the bridge in an attempt to get to me to help me across. I screamed in fear, "No! Don't come out! The bridge is moving more! I can't do this. I don't know what to do! Please, just don't make the bridge move anymore!" A tear rolled down my face. Those on the platform grew silent. I took a deep breath and a step. "One step at a time. One breath at a time," I said to my self. Breath, step, breath, step. Finally, I made it across. Everyone else cheered. I cried. I cried, but I survived. Would I do it again? I don't know. I've faced a lot of my fears since then and I believe that experience, while humbling, taught me a lot. Most importantly, I faced my fears and I didn't die. I encourage you to take calculated risks. Step out of your comfort zone and embrace the challenge. You are stronger than you fears. Whatever it is, you've got it! When you feel like you don't, remember God does!

I faced a few fears on my trip to Cozumel, starting with getting on the cruise ship (blog for another day). I had my first snorkeling experience in Cozumel. I swam with tropical fish and sea turtles. I was in the water within feet of baracudas and I got to hold a conch and a spider crab! All this in a day's adventure!

Another favorite for me at Chankanaab was Mayan Lazer Tag. Each group got to play three rounds with the final round comencing between the entire group and the two Lazer Tag hosts. Why is it a favorite for me? One, I love playing lazer tag! It was a fun environment and different than any other lazer tag I'd experienced.

The second reason Mayan Lazer Tag is a favorite for me is because the final round got down to having only three players left, me and the two hosts. I did not go down without a fight. In fact, I didn't go down at all. I was strategic andbsingle-handedly took out the two hosts. It made my day!! I would absolutely play again!

Ready. Aim. Fire! Win!

If you are given the opportunity to visit Chankanaab Adventure Park, take it! It offers fun, relaxation, and adventure all in one place! It's a great option for the entire family!
